We can reduce the amount of waste/rubbish/stuff we send to the council tips which then go to landfill sites. Which then reduces the expense for our councils for the disposal of waste material.
How can we do this? There are lots of ways…
Think about what is needed when food shopping, working to a weekly menu can be helpful here. The biggest item of waste in the world is food. Over 30% of food produced is wasted and the prime example is bread.
Buy less of everything – food, clothes, toys, electrical goods, household items, gifts, cards and wrapping paper – only buying what we need rather than what we think we might want to buy is better for the planet and the future lives of the people living here.
