We would love to hear from you if you wish to join our group in any capacity.
These are the areas where you can help:
Volunteer for litter picking. This is usually once a month for a couple of hours or less on a set route.
Volunteer for the Gardening Group. This is usually every week or so for a couple of hours, weeding, tidying and planting.
Volunteer for the ‘Balsam Bashing’ Group. Usually once a week for a couple of hours from May until August.
Even a few hours now and then volunteering for any activity is helpful.
You could be on our monthly Newsletter contact list.
You could become a ‘sleeping’ member who pays an annual subscription, currently £7.50, to help to support the group with things like insurance cover, pay for speakers and who doesn’t do practical volunteer work.
We encourage all our volunteers to become members.
Attend one of our open meetings at the Village Hall where we have interesting guest speakers. We have refreshments and a raffle. Donations welcome.
Join a one off event. For example we have held free Lunch and Litter picking, Lunch and Gardening events. Support our Hedgehog Highway trail by putting a hedgehog doorway in your fence.
If you want to do ‘your bit’ for the environment in Read and Simonstone we would really welcome your help.
