How can I find out how big my carbon footprint is?
Take your first step with the calculator information below.
Go online to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Environmental Footprint Calculator and complete the simple questionnaire. It takes a few minutes. If you need any help let us know. You might be shocked at the result or pleasantly surprised!
You can also download the WWF My Footprint App.
Whatever your results you can challenge yourself to make a difference and reduce the score by making small changes that can add up to something bigger.
The average individual score in the UK is 9.3, globally it’s 4.9 and in the US it’s 16.0.
It’s not an exact science but it certainly gives you food for thought.
This is something we hope to calculate in our villages in the future. We can work out the village average and compare ourselves to national and global levels. If it doesn’t match up to the average then we can work on solving the problems together.
Zero carbon Read and Simonstone anyone?
Is this possible in the next few years?
